The Hashashin, also known as the Assassins, was a powerful Muslim Assassins Cult that existed from 1021 to 1231. It was created by Hasan i-Sabbah. The Hashashin were led by the Grand Master, some famous Grand Masters include, Al Mualim, Altair, Malik, and others. The Hashashin was initially founded as a way for the local Ismaili Islam sect to murder the local Seljuk rulers who persecuted them. The Hashashin later fought against Saladin in Egyptian-Syrian War, and again several in of the Crusades. The Hashashin secluded themselves in the mountains, with their capital at Masyaf. They assassinated many important people over the years of their existence. They continued to grow in power and influence until the 11th Crusade where they were defeated again and again by the Grand Master of the Templar Knights, Will Campbell. Several years after their defeat, the Hashashin attempted to recreate their once glorious order, even briefly holding Masyaf and Alamut, but they were doomed to failure, and the cities they captured were besieged and conquered by the Byzantine Empire, and Sassinid Empire.
