Templars, British Army

Aldwin Corwin, (born c. 1742 - 1782) was a British Templar and former British Army officer during the American Revolutionary war. Many of his peers named him brave, and admired him for his help he often gave to them. He did not join the Templar Order until he was in America, in about 1765, for the least. On his way to the market, he happened to run into Haytham Kenway, a notable Templar and leader of the rite. He became a Templar right after that encounter, and Haytham provided all of the training and assistance needed. He was one of the most trained and specialized strategists in the Templars Colonial Rite and the British Army.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Aldwin grew up very poor parents. The parent's, Martha and Matthieu Corwin had no jobs, and often times found themselves living on the streets. His mother had to resort to prostitution to bring in money to support the family, and his father often volunteered for National Guard careers, and often went away for months, only to come back with some money. Aldwin, being the only child, thought life was unfair, and believed that his family deserved better. Yet, it continued on, until his mother and father both died when he was 17. The doctor's believed it was poisoning from bacterial water, however it was never identified. Young Aldwin then went up the streets of York, England, searching for a new life, and a job, so he could support himself. He found a job working as a woodcutter a few months later, and began to professionalize in that career for some time. He worked there until he was 21, when he decided to emigrate to America. He sold some of his belongings, and used all of the money from his old job to buy a ship ride to America. It worked, and he would soon find himself in Boston.

A New Life[]

It took months to get to America, but once he did, he was excited. Aldwin immediately got a job working as a town crier, and purchased a small two-story home in the heart of the city. It was cramped, smelled, and was falling apart. But it was all he could afford from his savings. He continued to work as a Town Crier until 1767, when he finally became a member of the Templars after convincing from Haytham Kenway. However, he was still able to continue routines, shopping and favors for money before this. He often did this around the market areas, and the docks, where poorer citizens resided. He made easy tips off of this, and often saved or used the money for food when in need of it. By July of 1765, Aldwin was in the recruitment process for becoming a Templar. He believed the Templar cause was beneficial to him.

Later careers and relations[]

Aldwin met new people in Boston all of the time. Though Haytham was the most prominent, he also met Fisher Ketch and Jackson Ghane, two men who later on befriended Aldwin and assisted him through the Templars. He often spent more time with them than the Templars, only because he needed help, and felt lonely for most of his life. For years to come, Aldwin would meet a lot of new people in Boston, and even came to meet Benjamin Franklin and George Washington. However, Aldwin did not like Washington, believing he was weak, and unpopular. In 1768, Aldwin was able to purchase a new plot of land in Vermont, along with a new manor to live in. He pitched in a lot of his money, and with help from the Templars to get the land. It was also understandable that he purchased the land in Vermont, so he could keep himself hidden from any outbreak of war, deep in the mountains in the North of Vermont. He lived there for the rest of his life until he died at Fort Henry.

The Templars[]

Aldwin at first was not interested in the Templars. He had other important things to do, but this soon changed. He became a full Templar by 1767 after training by Haytham Kenway. He personally admired Haytham for his kindness and his thought to get him back on his feet in the colonies. In return, Aldwin promised his full allegiance to him and the Templars. His first missions were mostly covered with the other Templars, Charles Lee, Thomas Hickey, Benjamin Church, John Pitcairn, and George Williams. He worked with all of these men closely, and got along with them quite well when not on duty. He first helped them perpetrate the Boston Massacre to try and spark the Citizen population against the British so war could ignite. It was successful, and the Templars, especially Haytham and Charles were able to start their planning. Aldwin was selected to work with Hickey in underground Black Markets with Hickey, and later on, was set up as Captain of Fort Frontenac in the Frontier. As Fort Captain, he often took supplies from the peddlers and traders that came by the roads near Lake Ontario. Another Templar, named Chad Jerry came to the fort a few days later and agreed to help Aldwin to retrieve supplies and keep them en route to the Templars back in Boston. Jerry was sent from the South in Georgia to help in "unconventional" missions, regarded by the Colonial Rite. It was initially successful.
