Ariane Kenway

Ariane shown wearing the robes of her adoptive father, Connor Kenway

"My Father taught me stealth was my greatest ally, that I should never turn my back on it. But he also taught me to be careful it does not turn it's back on me."

Ariane Kenway(1777-1819) was an American Assassin, who survived the American Revolutionary War, after fleeing from a shooting in Lexington, her home town. Ariane does not mention her parents, as she feels they bring up too many bad memories. Instead choosing Connor Kenway, her mentor, as her adoptive father, and Ellen, the Homestead's tailor, who taught her the arts of concealment, hiding daggers under her robes or leather patches as secret armor. Her 'father' taught her the arts of stealth and combat. She learned how to sail thanks to Robert Faulkner, who after begrudgingly accepting the orders of his captain, showed her how to lead a ship, and eventually, like Connor before her, Faulkner grew to admire the young woman. this admiration and respect were well recieved, as she chose a red sailors coat, modeled after Faulkner's own to wear as captain of her own ship, a modest Brig known as the False Son.

Early Life[]

Emily Ariane Jones, was a small girl, with chestnut brown hair and ice blue eyes, who lived in a modest house in Lexington , just on the outskirts of Boston, Massachussetts. Her father worked on a cargo ship, for a nearby Homestead, the Equilla, or something along those lines, she could never tell due to her fathers strong, yet mixed accent. She lived a fairly uneventful life, worked with her mother selling her homegrown produce, was a very outgoing and popular member of the community and was betrothed to one of her oldest childhood friends. That was until the battle of Lexington, she just remembers being rushed into the crossroads in the centre of town, all the men, including her father and fiance, were lined up against a wall, and shot, point blank, with a rusty old flintlock, not only did she watch them die, she watched them suffer. Her mother ran off, and was killed moments later by a rifleman walking by, enraged, she took the rusty old flintlock from the captain, and almost killed said marksman if the captain hadn't stopped her with a solid kick to the gut. Shortly after this, all the soldiers surrounding turned to look at a shadow through the mist created by the debris she'd once called her home, 4 of the 9 dropped where they stood, which was preceded by 4 loud bangs. The figure came out of the mist, it looked like a younger version of the late Captain William Kidd, 4 more dropped, also preceded by 4 loud bangs as 4 Bluecoats, were seen reloading their muskets. Only the captain was left. He ran before Captain Kidd looked at her and fired blindly over his shoulder, the fleeing captain fell over, dead, like all of his men. She looked back to see Captain Kidd running towards Boston. She smiled and whispered thank you, as the Bluecoats ushered her to safety.

She then went to Boston where she begged until she was 14, later becoming a barmaid, developing a sassy, cocksure, flirty attitude, after 3 years doing this, she was stopped by some drunken guards, who then attempted to violate her. She incapacitated all of them, save one, who was then beaten to death by the Captain Kidd she'd met all those years ago, and some older man, who wore a cloak over his left shoulder, and a posh tricorne. She then found and stowed away on Kidd's new vessel, the Aquila, she swore the name was familiar, but couldn't place it. As they pulled into docks, the barrel she hid in opened suddenly, and was politely aided out of the barrel by Captain Kidd. He then revealed that his name was in fact Connor Kenway. They spoke in the manor the next morning having had little sleep on her voyage, Connor was about to suggest she return to Boston, before discovering she was wearing the old Captain of the Aquila's Uniform, claiming she knew of the Assassins and their aims, from another resident of the manor, a posh lady by the name of Mademoiselle de Grandpre. Connor now had no choice but to train her in the ways of the Assassins.

The West Indies and The Jackdaw's recovery.[]

After several months honing her skills Connor asked her to accompany Haytham to find the rumored child of his father's first quartermaster, a young girl named Kathie Baptiste. After scouring the Caribbean they found the middle aged woman preparing to bury her elderly mother, who Haytham recognised as Anne Bonny, his father's other quartermaster. They found out from Kathie that Adewale had kept in contact with Miss Bonny, and frequently visited when he was assigned to Nassau. She claimed that he'd given Anne a letter detailing the location of the wreck of the Jackdaw, which Anne had hoped to visit before her untimely passing. After sailing to the location they found two wrecks instead of one. The Jackdaw and the Experto Crede. Finding in each, a Piece of Eden, which served an unknown purpose. A few years after finding the devices and rebuilding the Jackdaw, two projections welcomed Connor, Haytham and Ariane home. Those of Edward Kenway as Edward the Legend and Adewale. The five of them lived peacefully until Haytham's passing.

After Haytham and Death[]

Shortly after Haytham's passing, Ariane went to Texas to try and rescue an assassin key to finding an old cache of metal from the 'One's who came before'. However she fell in love with Veronica Ramirez, a Mexican Bounty Hunter, who was also a Templar. After locating the assassin both his and Veronica's loyalties were revealed to her. The Assassin had been driven mad by isolation and was determined to seingle handedly eradicate the Assassins and Templars. The two lovers quickly dispached him, before holding each other at gunpoint. They fired at each other. Both weakened but not dead, they agreed to go back to town where the local sheriff and his crew arrested them for killing the assassin, they were both shot and hung. Then they were left as vulture feed strung up by the roadside.
